When TBV’s healthcare arm looked at the addiction‑treatment space, we saw both a crisis and an opportunity. The U.S. is battling record levels of substance use disorder, with more than 20 million people affected. Of the millions of people struggling, only 10% of those affected received treatment in 2019, due in part to a lack of accessible treatment options.[1] North Carolina alone has lost nearly 30,000 residents to overdoses in the last two decades. An average of 12 North Carolina residents died of an overdose each day in 2023.[2]
High‑quality treatment facilities are scarce, yet demand has never been greater.
